1. I would like a web site put up. How much will it cost?
The cost of your web site is based on the number of hours it takes me to complete it. A web site cost will be affected by a variety of factors but most significantly by the amount of content you wish to have online and any image work that must be completed scanning, color corrections, resizing of images, etc. You can expect your site to take a minimum of 20 hours to complete at my hourly rate.
Once your site is designed, you must then pay a monthly fee to have it hosted on a server enabling people to access it on the Internet. An optional, but often useful, expense is to have your web site optimized for search engine ranking, which is also billed by the hour.

2. Do you know someone who can design a brochure?
Yes. I can. In addition to designing your brochure, I can coordinate its printing. All you need to do is provide me the materials I need to design it (text, logo, digital images or photographs), and your brochures can be delivered to your door.

3. What other work can you do?
I can design monthly/quarterly/annual publications like newsletters and magazines. I design business cards, fliers, signs, hang tags, note cards, envelopes, letterhead and more. I have a background as a managing editor and freelance writer, so I am also available for copywriting. I have also designed a few logos.

4. Did you go to school for this?
Actually, I didn't. I graduated from Drew University with a major in Political Science and minors in Writing and European Studies. After college, I drew from four years of gardening experience and my writing studies working as a managing editor for a regional gardening magazine. Working in a small office required wearing many hats. I learned how to do page layouts for the magazine, design signs and brochures. In 2002 I left the magazine, and later used my experience to complete several design projects as a manager and marketing director for a garden center. When I needed to leave the garden center, I decided to start my own business as a web and graphic designer.
5. How long will it take to finish my project?
Usually, I can finish most projects within a month once I start. Depending on work flow, it may be up to 6 weeks before I can start your project, but I may be able to juggle things to accommodate you if you are in a time crunch.
6. How does the payment process work?
I meet with all my clients to get a feel for what they're looking for, then write up a proposal within a few days of our meeting. The proposal will estimate the number of hours I expect the project to take. I require a 30% deposit up-front and bill every two weeks thereafter.
